Criteria for practitioners to be considered suitably qualified to provide second opinion ultrasound assessment of the fetus in cases with high risk or previously abnormal findings
Criteria:
Maternal and fetal medicine specialist, with focus on fetal medicine
or
Obstetrician / general practitioner, with
o Further training in O&G ultrasound (equivalent of two years full time training), or
o Fetal Medicine Foundation accreditations (e.g. echocardiography, diploma in fetal medicine), or
o Virtual fetal medicine fellowship (Barcelona)
AND
Regular attendance of and active participation in local (and preferably international) CPD events in fetal medicine
AND
In private practice with primary focus on fetal medicine / high risk obstetrics,
or
In tertiary fetal medicine unit
AND
Current member of SASUOG
AND
Agrees to be on list for second opinion referrals
Practitioners who work in this fields and believe their training and expertise is equivalent to the criteria described above, are welcome to submit their CV to SASUOG for peer-review and possible recognition.
